Andrew Lubimtsev - Worship Music Camp Lead Instructor
Andrew learned to play piano from Andrey, his father. He taught himself how to play guitar & bass. His passion, however, is for the drums which he has been playing since 2009. Over the years he has studied with prominent musician/teachers such as Jeremy Hummel (Breaking Benjamin). Most recently he studied with Keith Brown, Professor of Percussion at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
While working on his degree in Knoxville, Andrew played drums in the Contemporary Worship Praise Team at Faith Lutheran Church. The 5 years he spent anchoring this group provided him with considerable experience and a large repertoire in modern worship music.
After receiving his Master’s (in Materials Science and Engineering) from UTK, Andrew returned to this area to prepare for what’s next. Fortunately for us and our students he has enthusiastically agreed to take a leading role in this year’s summer camp program. Andrew taught children how to play the drum set as part of his duties at Faith Lutheran Church - he looks forward to expanding on that teaching foundation and sharing his love for all things musical with students at KMAC.
