Title: Drum Instructor
Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
Education: University of Tennessee at Knoxville - Master's in Material Science and Engineering; Musical education includes private lessons and live performance experience
Andrew learned to play piano from Andrey, his father. He taught himself how to play guitar & bass. His passion, however, is for the drums which he has been playing since 2009. Over the years he has studied with prominent musician/teachers such as Jeremy Hummel (Breaking Benjamin). Most recently he studied with Keith Brown, Professor of Percussion at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
While working on his degree in Knoxville, Andrew played drums in the Contemporary Worship Praise Team at Faith Lutheran Church. The 5 years he spent anchoring this group provided him with considerable experience.
After receiving his degree from UTK, Andrew returned to this area to prepare for what’s next. He now performs as a member of the contemporary ensembles at Christian Life Assembly in Mechanicsburg - every Sunday with the worship group and on Wednesdays with The Movement Band at the church’s youth center. You’ll usually find him playing bass in these groups, but he also fills in on drums and guitar as needed.
Fortunately for us and our students he has enthusiastically agreed to take a leading role in our summer camp program for a second year, and is now teaching private lessons on drums. Andrew taught youth how to play the drum set as part of his duties at Faith Lutheran Church - he looks forward to expanding on that teaching foundation and sharing his love for all things musical with students at KMAC.
Update Fall 2022 - Andrew just accepting a position with the Kingdom Classical Academy here in Camp Hill as their Elementary Music Teacher. He continues to teach drums Fri-Sun and will be leading the weekend Rock Band Program at KMAC.
Andrew is accepting new students on:
