Rita@KMACenter.org Title: Summer 2023 - Summer Camp and Piano Class Teaching Assistant, Piano & Keyboard Instructor, Theory and Composition Workshop Instructor Genres: Classical, Jazz, Pop, Blues, Rock, Fusion, Funk Education: Entering Senior Year at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York (Music Composition with Related Minors, Piano Concentration) Rita Veneziale is a senior music composition major at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. She is also pursuing minors in music history, music theory, contemporary commercial music, and the entertainment & recording industry. Her main interest in composition is film and media scoring. She creates music for short films in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) animation students and participates in scoring competitions. She also writes a variety of music that is regularly performed in semester recitals. Over the past academic year, she completed many short film collaborations and rescores. She performed the first live-to-picture performance of her 2022 RIT collaboration Snowman at a fall composition recital. Rita also put on many other performances and premieres of her own works in such concerts. Some examples are February, her new work for jazz big band, and the first movement of her String Quartet No. 1. Rita is a former piano and composition student of Andrey Lubimtsev and a former cello student of Michael Cameron. She now studies music composition with Dr. Octavio Vazquez in college, and has studied with Haralabos [Harry] Stafylakis during his sabbatical. She also studies piano with Dr. Gary Fisher and jazz with Professor Bradley Batz. She is active in the Nazareth College Symphony Orchestra, where she plays cello, and performs on piano with the Naz Jazz Lab Band. Rita also has experience accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists in classical, musical theater, and pop styles. Last summer, Rita assisted with our piano classes and Rock Band camps while also helping with administrative tasks such as creating social media content and general business matters. She is looking forward to handling all of these tasks again this summer as well as presenting music theory and composition workshops and teaching some piano lessons before returning to Nazareth for the fall semester. |
